When you visit one of The Academic Edge’s (AEI) web sites, the following information may be stored:
- the page you visited on an AEI site
- the date and time you access an AEI Web site
- the Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our web sites

This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various sections of our site and to help us make our site(s) more useful to visitors. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional information will be collected about you. No information about you will be shared or sold.
When inquiries are E-mailed to us, we store the question and the E-mail address information so that we can respond electronically. When other information is submitted to us through online forms or other means, this information, including personal information, is stored. Unless otherwise required by statute, we do not identify publicly who sends questions or comments to our web site. We will not obtain information that will allow us to personally identify you when you visit our site, unless you chose to provide such information to us.
By submitting an inquiry of any type through any means to us, you are providing us with permission to to respond to that inquiry and to send additional information at any time, through whatever channel we elect to use, including email, email campaigns, and telephone, until such time as you elect to opt-out of any or all messaging. We will not sell your email to others and we will immediately respect your wishes to unsubscribe from any or all of our messaging except those required as part of a continued business relationship.
On some of our sites, AEI uses a session cookies to retain information during the session or for the purpose of completing a particular online transaction, without any capacity to track users over time and across different web sites. These cookies expire immediately after a session. We do not use “persistent cookies.” AEI is in compliance with HHS-IRM-2000-0009. This federal policy prohibits the use of persistent cookies and permits the use of session cookies.

AEI’s web sites have links to other non-AEI web sites. When you follow a link to another site, you are subject to the privacy and legal policies of those sites.
Children
AEI is especially concerned about protecting children’s privacy. We urge parents and teachers to be involved in children’s Internet explorations. It is particularly important for parents to guide their children when children are asked to provide personal information on line. In some of sections of our web sites we ask children to provide their email address so that we can respond personally to them. Providing this information is entirely optional. We always suggest that children get their parents’ or guardians’ permission before providing any information on line — at our site or any other site — and hope parents and guardians will always be involved in those decisions. Most importantly, when children do provide information through this web site, it is only used to enable us to respond to the writer, and not to create profiles of children. Intrusion Detection
Some AEI sites have been supported by, developed for, and/or are maintained for United States government agencies. AEI sites are protected by various provisions of Title 18, U.S. Code. Violations of Title 18 are subject to criminal prosecution in federal court.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, we employ software programs to monitor traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. In the event of authorized law enforcement investigations, and pursuant to any required legal process, information from these sources may be used to help identify an individual.
